Agave

$40.00

Agave is an original art piece created by Vostai. Its features are welcoming, invigorating, and confident. It’s sized at about 8 by 6 inches, and made with pastel, pen, and colored pencil.

Agave was made because I was craving to get back into my art after a period of stagnancy. I had been working doing manual labor and raising a puppy, which was taking up all of my time. I really needed to start a small project that I could finish in reasonable time to feel a little more motivated and fulfilled again. Since I had been really diving into dog training and just the world of dogs in general, I figured I would draw one. Loving hairless dogs, I chose the xoloitzcuintle. Something about them is so unique and almost regal to me. In my recent work I had been including a lot of ceramic tiling elements, and wanted to continue that to practice it more. I surrounded him in tiles, beautiful lilies, and palms. I also added a little quip I came up with, because I feel as if I try to plant a lot of seeds of goodness into the world and my surroundings. I really love the finished work and think it deserves a matching home.
